Moving Bin & Tote Rental FAQ — Milwaukee
Everything you need to know about renting reusable moving bins, totes, and plastic moving boxes from Milwaukee Tote Rentals.
How do I book a tote rental?
Call or text us at (414) 426-8481. Tell us your move date, your address, and the size of your home and we'll recommend the right package. We confirm your delivery window and take a credit card and $50 deposit to hold your booking.
Do you deliver and pick up?
Yes — free delivery and free pickup are included with every rental. We bring totes to your door on your scheduled date and come back to collect them when you're done. You never need to haul anything to a store.
Is a dolly included?
Yes — tote dollies are included free with every rental. Studio: 1 dolly. 1 Bedroom: 2 dollies. 2–3 Bedroom: 3 dollies. 3–4 Bedroom: 4 dollies. Large Home: 5 dollies. Hand truck dollies (traditional 2-wheel furniture movers) are available to rent separately for $25 per 2-week period, with a $10 refundable deposit.
How many moving boxes or totes do I need?
A studio apartment typically needs 20 reusable moving bins. A 1-bedroom needs 25–30. A 2–3 bedroom home usually needs 40–50. A 3–4 bedroom home needs 60–75. Our packages: Studio (20 bins), 1 Bedroom (30), 2–3 Bedroom (50), 3–4 Bedroom (75), and Large Home (100). Call and we'll help you choose.
What size are the moving totes and how much do they hold?
Each reusable plastic moving bin measures 27" long × 17" wide × 12" tall and holds up to 65 lbs. The snap-on lid keeps contents secure without tape. The uniform size means every bin stacks perfectly in a moving truck with no gaps or shifting.
Can you deliver same day or next day?
Often yes. Call us at (414) 426-8481 and we'll check availability. We do our best to accommodate last-minute moves.
How long is the rental period?
We offer 2-week and 4-week rentals. The 2-week rental starts at $99 for the Studio package (20 bins). The 4-week rental starts at $139. Need more time? Extend by the week ($50–$265 depending on package) or by the day ($8–$38/day).
What areas do you serve?
We serve Milwaukee County and the greater Milwaukee metro area including Wauwatosa, West Allis, Brookfield, Oak Creek, Greenfield, Franklin, Menomonee Falls, Germantown, New Berlin, Waukesha County, Ozaukee County, and Racine County. Not sure if we cover your area? Call us.
What if I need more totes than my package includes?
Call us. We'll work out an arrangement. Depending on availability we can often add totes to an existing rental.
Are the totes clean?
Yes. Every tote is cleaned and sanitized between rentals. What arrives at your door is clean and ready to use.
What happens if a tote is damaged?
Damaged totes are charged at $10 each. Damaged totes must be returned for inspection — we need to see the damage to apply the charge. A tote that isn't returned is billed as missing, not damaged. You can add optional damage coverage for $15 per rental, which covers up to 5 totes with physical damage.
What if I don't return a tote?
Unreturned totes are charged at $10 each to the card on file. This applies regardless of damage coverage — the coverage only applies to returned totes with physical damage.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. We require a $50 refundable deposit at the time of booking. It's returned when all totes come back in good condition.
Do I need to tape the totes shut?
No. The totes have snap-on lids that close securely without tape. That's one of the main advantages over cardboard boxes.
Can I use the reusable bins for storage, not just moving?
Absolutely. Renting plastic moving bins works well for garage cleanouts, renovation projects, decluttering, or temporary storage during home projects. Our 4-week rental option is ideal for longer projects. Call us to discuss what you need.
Is Milwaukee Tote Rentals a local business?
Yes. We're based in the Milwaukee area. When you call, you're talking to the person who will deliver your totes.
